Bundaberg Fishing Festival 2024

September 27

Bundaberg Sportfish Festival 2024

September 27th to 29th.

The 2024 Fishing Festival is to be hosted by the Bundaberg Sportfishing club. The ANSA QLD Fishing Festival is wonderful event where all ANSA members, along with their families and friends can gather together and enjoy a social long weekend catching up, a friendly fishing competition, formal dinner with annual awards and the AGM.

Traditionally, members start to arrive earlier in the week, to enjoy the local area, sight-see and testing the waters. There are so many fishing options. You can fish Offshore (pelagics and reefies), the rivers (Barra and Jacks), freshwater (Barra, Bass and Saratoga) and land-based if you don’t have a boat. The Bundaberg members will kindly share enough information to get any visiting anglers a good start.

Friday – Briefing will be at Bundaberg Tackle World, located on Quay Street.

Saturday – Fishing Competition. Lines in from 6am.

Saturday night – Qld Sportfisher Awards Dinner will start at 5.30pm at Lighthouse Hotel Motel, located at 66 Zunker ST, Burnett Heads.

Sunday- Fishing Competition. Lines out 11.30am. Competition presentation & lunch from 12pm noon at the Lighthouse Hotel Motel.

Sunday Afternoon- AGM will follow the presentation. A representative from each club, is requested to attend. Any other interested members are also encouraged to attend.

The Venue:

The AGM will be held at Burnett Heads, a 15 minute drive from the heart of Bundaberg. The dinner and AGM will take place at the Lighthouse Hotel Motel. There are accommodation options close by and the main boat ramp is only 2kms from the Lighthouse Hotel Motel.

The ramp has direct access to the mouth of the mighty Burnett River and from here, depending on weather, we have access to the southern tip of the Great Barrier Reef. From the ramp you can head up stream and catch anything from Barra to Whiting.

This year you can fish as far south as the Burrum River, as far North as Baffle Creek, as far west as Lake Monduran and East out to the reef.
