DESCRIPTION:Maryborough Fishing Festival 2023        \nSeptember 29th to October 1st. \nThe 2023 Fishing Festival is to be hosted by the Maryborough Sportfishing club. The ANSA QLD Fishing Festival is wonderful event where all ANSA members\, along with their families and friends can gather together and enjoy a social long weekend catching up\, a friendly fishing competition\, formal dinner with annual awards and the AGM. \nUsually\, a group of members start to arrive early in the week\, to enjoy the local area\, sight-see and testing the waters. There are so many fishing options. You can fish Offshore (pelagics and reefies)\, the Bay (Mackerel and Tuna)\, the rivers (Barra and King Salmon)\, freshwater (Barra\, Bass and Sooties) and land-based if you don’t have a boat. The Maryborough members will kindly share enough information to get any visiting anglers a start. \nFriday – Briefing at 6pm at Wallace Caravan Park. \nSaturday – Fishing Competition. Lines in from 5am. \nSaturday night – Qld Sportfisher Awards Dinner 7pm at Old Sydney Hotel. \nSunday- Fishing Competition. The Wallace RV Park is pet friendly and has an off-leash exercise area. \nEntrance to the park is left off Ferry St in the first block after crossing the Lamington Bridge inbound to Maryborough (across Ferry St from the Lamington Hotel). The park has frontage to the Mary River and is less than 200 metres from the Lamington Bridge public boat ramp. \nMore details to come.
