Time to Secure your place in the 2011 Carlton Mid Rocky Barra Bounty!

 rbb_flyer2.pdf (121.8 KB)

Barramundi anglers from far and wide are now able to nominate for this year’s much anticipated Carlton Mid Rocky Barra Bounty that will be run over 22-23 September on the Fitzroy River.   After last year’s event was cancelled due to the early unseasonal flooding in the Fitzroy, competition anglers are chomping at the bit to get their lures back in the water.

Everything is pointing towards a bumper event, with barra stocks in the system in good shape following a couple of consecutive years of solid recruitment. Member of the organising committee, Mr Kim Martin, said he was quietly confident that the 2011 Carlton Mid Rocky Barra Bounty would see a record number of barra caught, tagged and released.

“Many of the fish from the past few seasons’ good recruitment will be of legal size this year, so competitors can expect to catch excellent quality fish in good numbers,” Mr Martin said.

“We’re taking team nominations right now and early interest is high. With a dedicated event website, competitors can find all the information about the event and nominate online”, he said. “We expect this year’s event to fill quickly. So we recommend intending teams get onto the website and lock in their spot now.”   The web address is: www.rockybarrabounty.com and competitors can also follow the event on Facebook and Twitter, where up to the minute information will be regularly posted.

This year, for the first time, it will be a “lure only” event and with Carlton and United supporting the event, the prizes on offer will be better than ever.   The event is restricted to a maximum of 70 two person teams.
