You can now verify the details of your Recreational Marine Drivers Licence on line at www.transport.qld.gov.au Commercial licence details are not yet available.
This easy to use service will be used in the main by licence holders, the boat hire industry and marine regulators seeking licence verification. Confirmation is obtained in the form of a certificate detailing the licence holders name and a simple “Yes” or “No” recorded against the types of licences available, no other details are listed. You can choose to print a copy or have the confirmation emailed.
There is a fee of $5 for this service which can be paid via a credit card on line.
For those boaties holding a paper licence of some vintage this service presents a cost effective way to verify your licence details have been captured. That way should you loose the paper licence, or it simply falls apart, you will be confident there are records to substantiate its existence.
