Gladstone Sport Fishing Club was formed in 1979. It is the biggest, tag and release club in Queensland. The GSFC has continued to grow with its membership at eighty-five local members, and an active junior base. |

Meetings |
| The GSFC meets on the last Monday each month. Doors open at 7.00pm for an 7.30pm start at the Volunteer Marine Rescue Building, Goondoon street boat ramp. All visitors are welcome to come along, with a raffle and refreshments on the night. |

The second Lady Fishers Lake Awoonga Barra
|
Classic will be held at Lake Awoonga. Everyone is invited to come along and the emphasis is on having fun. If you’ve never fished before this will be a great opportunity to learn along with fellow lady anglers and join in the many festivities over the tournament. There will be talks, demonstrations and casting tuition prior to the tournament for anyone who would like to learn and improve their skills. Willowgrove Holiday Park is the venue for the Lady Fishers Lake Awoonga Barra Classic. Situated on 20 acres of tranquil green parkland on the Boyne River, Bruce Highway, Benaraby, south of Gladstone Qld. Competitors are required to book and manage their own accommodation requirements. Comfortable self-contained cabins have been set-aside for participants of the event. Powered and non-powered camping sites can also be booked direct.
