2011-2012 ANSA Qld Length Based Competition changes
There have been a number of changes to the format of the 2011-2012 ANSA Qld Length Based Competition to assist in species identification, and measurement accuracy.
As of Friday 1st July 2011 the following changes will take affect:
- There will be 50 species in this years competition. Click here to see new Species List
- Only First Place will be shown on the Competition Table due to the requirement for more species to be added, as well as to cut down on workload for the Events Co-ordinator
- Two photo's are required to enter any fish in the Competition. A mandatory photo of the fish on an acceptable measuring device, (the side of the boat in the case of billfish/sailfish) with both head and tail centred and clearly visible, and an optional photo of the fish being held by the angler. This is to assist with correct species identification and measurement of entries. The photo of the angler will be the preferred choice for publication on the web, but if unavailable the mandatory photo will be used.
- A new rule will be introduced that reads: "Fish is to be measured using DEEDI length regulations and/or ANSA Qld minimum lengths, but caudal fork length will be the measurement used for the determination of longest fish of each species. Short measurement for Billfish and Sailfish is also to be used."
- Measuring requirements will be as per the drawing here
and will be placed on the Rules section, as well as the Form Submit page
