Last Weekend the Blue Water Club held a Bream Classic Competition. A few members fished with one member wiping the floor with his catch. On Ya Sam.
The Hodge, Charteris, Galletly and Gatt teams fished over the weekend catching some bream to weigh in but nothing outstanding, though Sam managed to land a bream that won him a cheque for $150.00 plus a rod and reel and that together with the other two or three bream he landed also won him heaviest catch overall for his age group landing him another $150.00 plus a rod and reel - not too shabby. So if anyone wants a loan better see Sam quick before he spends his winnings on fishing gear.
A bit of interesting info for you all. Sam's bream was initially caught, tagged and released by Geoff back in March this year. It had been out for 49 days, increased in size by 15mm and had a big feed as it had put on 80 grams in that time. Bulking up for the

Winter Geoff thinks. The fish was released again.
The club tagged around 100 fish for the weekend of which all swam away to fight another day. Next year the Blue Water Club is thinking a having a recapture prize of a large amount of money and I mean LARGE for previously tagged fish from this year. So I would be jotting down the date in the dairy for next year because it will be worth a try.
No-one else won any fish prizes but Elle won an 80 litre orange cooler. Kevin won a small blue drinks esky, Brodie won a crab pot - which has already been christened with no crabs, Jesse won a fold up chair and Abby won a deep sea rod and reel. Not too bad for catching not many fish. The weekend was well run and the prizes were worthwhile. They had a good set up with the tank so all fish were kept alive and released.
