The ANSA Qld 2009 Statewide Conference 2009    Cool Waters Logo

It's on again!Cool Waters Pool  ANSA Qld Hosts the 2009 Conference, ANSA FEST and Meeting  at Yeppoon. This year the theme is 'Youth are the ANSA'

Its time to book for the annual ANSA QLD State Wide Meeting again, and this year it’s being held over 3 days from the 21st to the 23rd of August 2009. Last year was a fantastic success with many families attending at the new venue Cool Waters Holiday Village. The weekend had nearly 70 participants for the conference, representing 24 clubs from across Queensland.

The location was fabulous, on the Causeway Lake in Yeppoon. It’s a great venue with all accommodation options available from cabins to villas, caravans to camping. There’s an in ground pool, recreation room, internet facilities, kids playground, air pillow, tennis courts and BBQ facilities, not to mention the great campfire to sit around each night and enjoy the stories and company.

Subsidies available for ANSA Qld Club Delegates to attand 2009 ANSA FEST and Conference! Electrofishing 1

Delegates and their families arrive on Thursday night, a quiet social night about networking, where you can catch up with old friends and make new friends, while being entertained by the host club Keppel Bay Sportfishing Club.

This year there will be an ANSA Fest on the Friday, where individuals or clubs can hold a stall. There will be demonstrations on various aspects of fishing.

The preliminery line up for the ANSA Fest demonstrators include:-

Fly casting and Fly tying - Bob Avery & Peter Griffiths

Snaps and other accessories - Steve Watson

Soft Plastics - Gazza Sturdy

Braid Knots & their uses - Aaron Small & Josh Hodge

There are lots of members out there who have skills that many others would love to see demonstrated, and to learn, so if you have a skill that you would like to pass on, please contact Peter Stonely Ph. 4975 1128 or peter.stoneley@orica.com

If you or your club would like to be part of the swap meet section, please contact Geoff Hodge at geoffh@bundysportfishing.com.au to book a spot.

Friday night provides an opportunity to review the days activities and continue the networking. The Saturday Conference which opens Saturday morning includes some great guest speakers that have been invited to talk on relevant recreational fishing topics. These sessions are aimed at increasing the delegates knowledge on current recreational fishing issues, with the concept that they can take this information back and share this information with members of their respective clubs.

Coolwaters Holiday Village offer a great conference centre, close to your accommodation, and very comfortable and roomy for all delegates.   Find out more about the sponsorship offer..

The 2009 ANSA Qld AGM and State Council Meeting - Make sure your club has input!
Coolwaters Lake

Saturday afternoon is the AGM and followed by the State Council Meeting. It’s after the official business that the social aspect begins, with an outdoor BBQ dinner, and the awards presentation for the Eric Moller Award and Ron Dempster Award. The Saturday Social night is the main evening for the Statewide Meeting, with raffles and the Presentations. There are always a huge variety of prizes on offer, with the main prize usually a rod and reel combo. The raffle is always a great part of the night with many delegates going away with a prize. Once again, Keppel Bay will coordinate a display of photos from across the state so if anyone has any great pics please email them through to Deb or Tony Austen before the conference at austentd@internode.on.net.

So, reserve the weekend of the 21st to the 23rd of August 2009, find out who is coming from your club, and bring your family. For any enquiries please contact Nathan Robson Ph. 4972 3434 or at nathan.robson@orica.com
